Heartfelt worship, prayer, and
a Christ-like lifestyle

Our mission at Abenezer Evangelical Church is to shape disciples—those who wholeheartedly follow, share, and reflect Christ. To fulfill this mission, we are devoted to:

  • Evangelizing and sharing the joy of Jesus Christ, bringing souls to the Kingdom of God (Matt 28:19, 2Cor 5:20, Mark 16:15).

  • Engaging in heartfelt worship, prayer, and a Christ-like lifestyle (Eph. 5:19-20, Eph. 6:18).

  • Nurturing the growth of Christian brothers and sisters toward the likeness of Christ through various services and fellowships (2Tim 4:2, Heb. 10:24-25, 1Tim 2:1-2, 1Tim 3:16, 1Tim 6:11, 2Pet 1:7).

  • Equipping believers with teachings, preachings, group and individual Bible studies, and pastoral care (Matt 28:20, 2Tim 3:14-17, 1Tim 4:1-2).

We believe, adhere, and preach the following

The scriptures.

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired Word of God and that the 66 books of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, are inerrant in the original writings. - We believe that the Scriptures are the sole foundations of the Christian faith and belief. They are also the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Acts 17:11; and Isaiah 8:20

Holy trinity.

We believe in the tri-unity (Trinity) of God. That God is Eternally One, and also eternally the Father, the Son and the Hold Spirit- the three being distinct, but not separate. Each Person of the Godhead coexists from everlasting to everlasting.

We believe in God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power. (Matthew 5:48; Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 11:3; Nehemiah 9:6; Hebrews 1:2-3; Psalm 103:19; Ephesians 1:11; 1 Kings 8:27; and Psalm 90:2)

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, sinless in His life, and making atonement for the sin of the world by His shed blood and death on the cross. -We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His high priestly intercession for His people. We believe in His personal, visible and triumphant return to the world according to His promise. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:14; Hebrews 10:9; John 1:29; 1 John 2:1-2; John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; and Acts 1:11)

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from God to convict the world of sin, to convince the world of righteousness, and of judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ. (John 15:26; John 16:8-11; Romans 6:3-6; 1 Corinthians 12:13; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; and 1 Peter 1:1-3)

Man and salvation.

We believe that Man was first created without sin and in the image of God. Man, however, fell into sin by his will. We, therefore believe, that all mankind are sinful and are subject to God's wrath and condemnation. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:15-17; and Romans 3:10-12, 23)

We, therefore, believe that everyone is in need of God's salvation. Mankind is absolutely unable to fulfill the heavy demands of God's righteousness, holiness and glory. Therefore, God, in sending His Only Begotten Son, has accomplished redemption for us through the shedding of Jesus' blood. Because of his Son's death, God has forgiven us of our sins, reconciled us to Himself, and justified us by making Him our righteousness. (John 1:12; Romans 3:21-26; Ephesians 1:13; 2:8-10)

We believe that all who receive, by faith, Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are born again of the Holy Spirit and, therefore, become children of God. (John 3:16)

Institutions.

We believe that family was established by God and also believe that Marriage is the physical and spiritual union of a Man and a Woman. (Gen. 2:21-25; Matt 19: 4-6)

We believe that the Church was established by God to evangelize the lost and to edify the saved. (Acts 2, 11:26; Matt. 28:19-20; Eph. 4:11-16; Heb. 10:25)

We believe that government was established by God and that every Christian should be in submission to its laws, but must obey God rather than man when government goes against God's Word. (Matt. 17:24-27; Acts 4:19-20, 5:29; Rom. 13:1-7)
